Founders Award Celebration

On Friday, May 29, 2026, LGBTQ Senior Housing’s Co-Founder Aileen Montour was honored with our first Annual Founders Award!

Thank you to all who joined us and supported LGBTQ Senior Housing at our inaugural Founders Award Celebration! It was a joy to celebrate the contributions of our co-found Aileen Montour. This fundraiser has exceeded our expectations! We are still getting donations and this generous support allows is to continue providing LGBTQ-affirming programs and services for income-restricted older adults.

What Is The Founders Award? LGBTQ Senior Housing will honor an individual or organization with the Founders Award each year. Recipients will be chosen who embody the courageous and visionary spirit of our founders and their commitment to the LGBTQ community. Aileen is our first honoree!

Meet The First Honoree: Aileen Montour

With unparalleled tenacity and a gift for community organizing, Aileen has never wavered in her vision of senior housing deeply rooted in community and welcoming and accessible to all. From building her own passive solar home to organizing the Boston Social Forum and the New Boston Sanctuary Movement to serving on the leadership team of Roslindale Is For Everyone (RISE), Aileen brought both her life-long passion for social justice and her professional experience as a nurse and acupuncturist to the challenge of building Boston’s first LGBTQ-welcoming affordable senior housing community. Aileen has never stopped inspiring everyone around her.
