Community Center

A Place for All

Welcome to New England’s first LGBTQ-affirming senior housing community—vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming.

The Pryde Community Center, art gallery, library and art studio is a new public community resource in the heart of Hyde Park's Main Street district. These public spaces currently offer intergenerational programming, services and places to gather not only for residents of The Pryde, but also for Hyde Park seniors and neighbors and the larger LGBTQ community. The Pryde Community Center provides a place for meetings and events, celebrations and festivities, community lunches, and LGBTQ-focused activities, including live performances, movies, art exhibits, lectures and readings, and more. In the future, we also plan to offer innovative remote and virtual programming for our elders wherever they are located in Greater Boston and across the country.

The Pryde Community Center is part of the public wing of The Pryde. It has a warming kitchen and provides space for large and small gatherings, festive celebrations, community lunches, events, and more. One existing classroom in the public wing has been repurposed as an art studio and another has been repurposed as a library and education center for lifelong learning. A public art gallery and exhibition space called The Pryde Gallery features rotating art exhibits, with special attention to showcasing work by LGBTQ artists and creators in a partnership with The Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History, and Culture.
